這是Suzanne Vega寫的第一首歌，1977年她18歲，那年她帶夏令營（Adirondak Mountains, New Yok）教孩子們跳Disco和唱民謠，不跳Disco的其他時間，便教孩子唱她最愛的Leonard Cohen，用她的吉他重新編過的Leonard Cohen，雖然孩子們老是央求她唱〈Leaving on A Jet Plane〉。她認識了營隊另一個男孩，來自海洋另一端的利物浦。他也帶領孩子們唱歌跳舞，他是個年輕的達達派畫家，只有一個耳朵帶著耳環，他在眾目睽睽下把自己的頭剃光，他在夏令營裡很紅，而且聽說他快聾了。他跟Suzanne一樣熱衷於無政府運動的左派思想（Anarchist），一樣為「Anarchy in the U.K.」（Sex Pistols 單曲，1976）著迷瘋狂，於是他們成為了朋友，男孩與女孩自然而然地相愛。女孩為男孩寫下這首歌，作為送給男孩離開前的禮物，而這首歌同時也是男孩回送給女孩的紀念品。
多年後，女孩與男孩再次相遇，男孩已為人父，向女孩坦承其實他從來就不是Anarchist。但在女孩心中，那年夏日她和來自英國的男孩相愛，他們一起教孩子們跳舞，他們一同愛著Leonard Cohen，一起譜寫了這段年輕的羅曼史；她知道夏天結束男孩便會回到利物浦，而她則回到紐約，但一切都那麼理所當然，在女孩和男孩的心中，他們曾經共同有過一段，在那個屬於Anarchy的美好年代。

這是Suzanne Vega的初戀，男孩第一個問她的問題是：“Do you like Leonard Cohen?”
如果她的回答是“No.”那麼就不會有這段戀情，更不會有這首歌。人們常常因為共同的情感（kinship、sympathy）而拉近距離、接受彼此，甚至相愛，也就因為人類擁有這麼可愛的特質，才會有這麼多美妙的靈感火花。也許只是電光火石，一眼瞬間能成永恆。
