Matthieu Place + Thomas Raynaud－倉庫搖身一變為視覺藝術學校

如何將舊倉庫加以改造成一處適合學生使用的空間，各事務所各有其招，就像由Matthieu Place 及Thomas Raynaud 二間事務所於法國馬賽所設計的一處由倉庫改建而成的學校視覺藝術中心，在保留原倉庫斑駁的牆面及天花板下，加入了些許現代化及簡潔的桌椅元件後，以白色為底的空間中，開創出一處能讓學生盡情發揮藝術的想像力空間。

這處成功改造的空間，改善了原倉庫中光線照射不足，以及空間規劃上的缺點。這樣的成功改造案例亦不少，例如西班牙的建築事務所Sol89被委託將小鎮中一座建於19世紀的屠宰場改造成一間專門的廚藝學校（http://goo.gl/Oflaqn），以及義大利的海島建築師事務所Insula studio將一處羅馬屠宰場蛻變成校園的藝術設計中心 （http://goo.gl/a4lGok）等等，都在不破壞原建築的原則下，讓原本被遺忘的舊建築以另一方式再度重生。

事務所表示在改造的過程中，儘量利用原建築物結構及空間上的優勢不加以大幅度地更改，以呈現出原有的樣貌，不過也需考量在新功能與原建築樣貌中達到最佳的平衡。

The successive transformations of the building’s layout since its construction led to an important deficiency of natural light, spoiling the original spatial qualities of the building.
