【疫情影響】虛擬自行車模擬器RGT Cycling免費開放高級會員功能

虛擬自行車模擬器RGT Cycling（Road Grand Tours Cycling）在3月18日宣布，為了因應疫情帶來的的影響，他們決定把高級會員功能免費開放給所有的使用者。

RGT Cycling的高級會員會員功能原本是付費訂閱制，訂閱的費用為每個月12.99英鎊（or 14.99美元），這個軟體的運作方式和Zwift相似，搭配智慧型訓練台以及功率計等硬體、以虛擬的方式模擬現實路況來達到訓練的效果，就是一個在家騎腳踏車打電動的概念啦?

因為武漢肺炎疫情的擴散，英國自行車運動協會「British Cycling」目前已經暫緩了所有自行車的相關活動，歐洲的義大利、西班牙這兩個疫情最為慘重的國家，也已經限制所有戶外活動進入全面戒備的狀態，短期之內或許會有更多的歐洲國家跟進這樣的政策。有鑑於此，RGT團隊決定將旗下的付費訂閱功能免費開放給所有的註冊會員，用以鼓勵所有自行車的愛好者可以繼續投入自行車運動。

RGT Cycling的創辦人兼執行長發表了一段公開聲明：

RGT was created to empower all cyclists to ride inside in the same way they ride outside. As the impact of COVID-19 is felt around the world, this mission has become more important than ever and after watching inspiring communities come together to support each other, our need to do everything we can to help became obvious. At a time when focusing on profit would be easy, this removal of restrictions will provide free access for all and, we hope, offer some support to the cycling community’.

‘I really hope that this initiative sets a precedent for others to join our #rideitout movement. We are already in discussions with many of our friends and partners in the cycling industry to encourage and enable them to do more to help the global cycling community at this time’.
