於年度的100% Design設計展中，由著名英國建築師Peter Cook 與Gavin Robotham合夥的CRAB Studio事務所以群島的概念及對於辦公傢俱原始理念發想而成的裝置藝術「歡迎島嶼WELCOMING ISLANDS」提供了一種獨特的小型社交區域，用來鼓勵人們在此激發出預期外的想法與精采的對話，同時也是一處最佳的休憩場所。

多彩鮮明的不規則群島狀桌子與板凳邊緣特地設計成如小灣的裂口。WELCOMING ISLANDS令人感到輕鬆的造型便適合當成一處聊天、約會、安靜地閱讀或只是發呆的地方，坐在WELCOMING ISLANDS可是比坐在一般方方正正的桌子上有趣多了。更好玩是，WELCOMING ISLANDS更可直接當成壁畫用的裝飾品。

被當成桌子使用時，桌面上一些如高爾夫球孔的小洞也可當做放置如筆類的文具使用。WELCOMING ISLANDS不但可單獨使用，也可與其他主題性活動加以配合使用，可說是便宜、有趣與別有特色的一項高實用性裝置藝術。由厚膠合板、高品質塗裝及混凝土腳座所組成的WELCOMING ISLANDS桌椅，無論擺設在辦公大樓、學校或是公園中都非常地美觀與實用。

一隻喜愛新事物也對舊事物固執的牡羊。台北工專土木工程科、雲林科技大學營建工程結構組畢業，工作後決定離職前往澳洲再度充實自己並一圓留學夢，畢業於墨爾本大學經濟與商業研究所，主修商業與資訊管理。喜歡看建築、旅行探索、研究攝影、愛打網球、沉溺爵士樂當了爵士樂團薩克斯風手。目前為《欣建築／國際脈動》編譯、文字記者、辦理欣建築相關活動及國際領隊。

As you turn to enter the Main Entrance of 100% design a hitherto forgotten corner will for four days engage you with a cluster of ‘welcoming islands’.

An archipelago of brightly coloured island tables and their accompanying benches : with all the charm of a profile of inlets and crevices that meander around their edges.

Just the place for a chat, a smoke, an assignation, a quiet read of some exhibition literature, the place to wait and look – and certainly less boring than sitting at a foursquare wipe-down caff table.

As a backdrop the tables suddenly swing up and become a mural.

Introduced into the tables can be small ‘golf-hole’ openings into which pencils or other giveaway items can be offered.

The islands can be a stand-alone feature or can readily be associated with a ‘themed’ or product-based promotion.

They are cheap and cheerful and different.

Constructed of thick plywood, external quality painted , the leg supports to be purpose-cast concrete ‘rocks’ to which the tables and benches are screwed.

The entire installation could be sold or offered to a school or playground or
pub garden.
